We often hear the word “resilience,” but how many of us can truly define what it means—and identify what helps us become more resilient?

This experiential workshop offers a practical approach to resilience for aid workers and mission-driven professionals.

We’ll explore what resilience really means and unpack some of the common myths that surround it. Through a mix of reflection, discussion, and gentle body-based and mindfulness practices, we’ll examine how resilience connects to the idea of resources—both physical and mental.

You’ll be introduced to the concept of your resource container: how to notice what fills you up, what drains you, and how to better protect and replenish your energy over time. Together, we’ll explore how to build sustainable tools to support yourself—even when navigating uncertainty and challenges.

Topics we’ll explore include:

  • What resilience really means, and the myths that can get in the way

  • How the concept of resilience is linked to stress and the nervous system

  • The idea of a “resource container”—how to track your internal state and replenish your resources

  • Micro-practices and longer-term habits that support resilience in everyday life

Whether you’re feeling depleted during this period of uncertainty the sector is facing, or simply seeking to stay grounded and well over the long term, we hope this workshop will offer a supportive space to reconnect with yourself—and leave with tools you can apply right away.

The session is facilitated by Tania Shybko, an experienced humanitarian professional and certified embodiment coach and mindfulness trainer.

WHO IS OUR EXPERT-SPEAKER?

ree

Tania Shybko is a certified coach and humanitarian aid professional with over 13 years of experience managing programs and teams in crisis and conflict settings. She has held senior management roles in a range of countries, including South Sudan, the Central African Republic, Iraq, Ukraine, Lebanon, and Haiti, and currently works as an independent consultant.

Her experience navigating the complex realities of humanitarian work—combined with her own encounter with burnout—led her to explore tools that support well-being and resilience. This journey brought her to mindfulness meditation and embodiment practices, which helped her manage stress, reconnect with her body and emotions, and cultivate a deeper sense of purpose.

Inspired by the profound impact of these practices, Tania felt called to share them with others. She completed a Mindfulness Instructor Training Program and pursued training as a coach. She is a graduate of both the Certificate of Embodiment Coaching and the Leadership Embodiment Coach Training—approaches that integrate the mind-body connection into coaching and leadership development.

Today, Tania is passionate about supporting mission-driven professionals in navigating stress, building resilience, and enhancing their impact through mindful leadership. Her work combines mindfulness and somatic tools with a deep understanding of humanitarian challenges, empowering participants to develop sustainable well-being practices. She currently offers one-on-one coaching, workshops, and tailored sessions for the humanitarian and development community.

Tania is currently based in France and accompanies mission-driven workers and organizations in French and English.
